Registration and log in issues reported

Post by Admin »

Greetings all,

We have already received feedback about the system not accepting new registrations, so people can not log in and post anything.

I can confirm the system is working correctly, although there is heavy lag (delay) in communicating with the server, and transferring data. Please remember this forum is not connected to any hard physical server, it is connected to the "cloud" server, which is far far away.

So to be clear, if you are reading this then you are connected. However for the moment until the handshake with the server is fully activated, we do expect lag issues. The registration process is fully functional, but is a victim of the lag. To overcome this patience is required. Each fill in the blank needs to be done slowly and very deliberately. Once you fill in the boxes with your chosen screen name, password, e-mail, time zone, and finally code verification (all in capitol letters), then DO NOT HIT THE SUBMIT BUTTON INSTANTLY!!!

At that point walk away to let the program digest the data, and then hit the submit button 90 seconds later. You might get an error message back, but that is actually good you will be able to sign in then.

Part 2 Registration and log in issues reported

Post by Admin »

Part 2

Log in Issues continue to be reported today 9/20/23. We however see that as of today 9 (nine) new members have completed the registration process. Again this issue is occurring as this forum is still in migration to the servers, its difficult to believe but we were informed by multiple software vendors that this process may take up to 10 days for full linkage and synchronization to complete.

I myself am attempting to add more Forum Sub directories right now, covering other subject matter and having similar issues, as populating the boxes after multiple entries, and multiple times being bounced back off line and denied access.

This issue is systemic for all functions right now until the forum communications with the server is stabilized.

Part 3 Registration and log in issues reported

Post by Admin »

Additional reports are coming in that say previous IIF Forum (2004) members are attempting to log in to here to this revised 2023 IIF Forum version by using their previous identities with their previous 2004 credentials. Understand those log in credentials are totally invalid now, as that Forum package belonged by the previous administrator, and we do not have access to that data base. We had to create a totally new data base as you see now here today in 2023.

So understand that your previous screen names should be available here in our new data base, that you may claim/duplicate but your have to create a new account with a new password in order to log in.

All previous data, posts, photos, and information is now locked out to us here, from the Rev A forum (2004) and we are beginning all again from scratch Rev B Forum in 2023.

Yes we are seeing this now as well, it appears to be a setting in the "Security Software" and it has been identified and adjusted now. So we believe this issue has now been resolved. Give it another try now, your time should no longer be limited.

We have also now disabled the automatic "post review" feature, as now all posts are instantly published without pending Admin review delays.

Part 4

We continue to get reports of folks trying to log in here using their previous Screen name, and with trying to use previous passwords, as if they were logging in to the previous forum format version established in 2004.

To be clear, that forum version from 2004 is no longer assessable, as all those records (data base) are gone, as the 2004 version admin/manager/owner of that 2004 version forum has gone on permeant AFK status. All that data base is now locked out to us here, that means your previous passwords are not recognized here on this 2023 version format.

However your previous 2004 screen names can be re-used here now, such as the veteran name used by Brazileiro, was again awakened/used here within this new data base. He has correctly and successfully re-used his previous screen name from the 2004 forum version here, by registering it here and just making up a new password assigned to access this 2023 forum version.

We hope that helps get some other heritage members back on here.

Part 5
A new report has surfaced that says this format is restricting new registrations in a new way, that we have not seen before. The system seems to be categorizing new members into a "newly registiered member" file, and placing a limit on posting until a benchmark has been reached. We are looking into this now, as it is obviously a setting within the system that needs to be "un clicked".

If you are in this category send us an e-mail at [email protected] and we shall do a manual reset of your membership file here.
