Part 6
We have discovered the e-mail data base is flawed somehow, and the e-mail path to complete anyone's registration is malfunctioning. There is a known solution for this, but requires another software patch be installed, which will take time. In the mean time we have disabled the e-mail path to verify registration, and set it to "default" where as now, all new applicants will be subject to review by "admin" for activation, until further notice.
So after reviewing the inventory of new applicants over this past weekend, we see 10 to 20 new member applications have been received but have been mistakenly placed in the "inactive" category, awaiting confirmation. However since this forum has been re-activated 2 weeks ago, we have watched as many "ghost" accounts have also been created, and a few spam messages have been reviewed for review and mostly in forigen languages, all have been denied and those accounts banned.
So we will watch again now as new folks arrive and take it on a case by case basis, although if you are in the "inactive" category right now after recently completing registration, and are waiting for a confirmation from the system, IT IS NOT GONNA COME NOW.
So please send us a separate message as to activate your membership. [email protected]

SPAM ATTACKS
We have seen a heavy influx of spammers here now, and we are working to block it all now. For the moment we have changed some settings so that all new applicants for membership here are now set for ADMIN to be reviewed and to set pending approval.
So with this in mind if anyone is now awaiting approval for membership from the previous IIF Forum and has not herd anything back yet, its time to speak up and send us an email to expedite review and approval.......

Password length reset
A new issue was brought to my attention today, it seems the system has jumped to reset the required password length to 15 characters must be used. Some previous entries did not comply with that setting, and were unable to log in again. I have gone in and reset that value to 9 characters just again now.
If anyone is still unable to log in please let me know and we shall look at it again.

Password length reset
Be advised as soon as we lowered the password length settings, the Spammers returned trying to get in, its something we may have to live with for a while...........

Welcome back as we fear the Haggis once again!!!
Yes glad to see you made it back here, agreeable its not the same as before, and there are some lingering software issues, but it seems to be smoothing out now.

New Registration Policy
In order to put a halt to "ghost" applications for registrations we have decided to totally disable the automatic application method/path. From this point on going forward, anyone interested in becoming a member of this new IIF format will need to now send an e-mail to ADMIN, and it will need to be reviewed by staff for validity, and a manual entry shall be processed and approved.
The internet is full of spammers and hackers more than you might imagine, so this is the best solution we can see for the near future.
